Solden, Austria World Cup Opener

Last week I had the privilege of attending the World Cup opener in Solden, Austria. The skiing was amazing and the racing was even better. The Austrians sure know how to put on a good event. Special thanks goes out to Mike Loidl and GMVS for hosting an amazing coaching clinic.

During the week I had the opportunity to sit down and speak with Mark Sharp (Canadian WC Tech Asst. Coach) and Jim Pollock (Canadian WC Tech Head Coach). They gave great insight to the current trends in WC Ski Racing and were kind enough to share a video of Austrian phenom, Marcel Hirscher.

Dare to dream big because if you aren't someone else is!
Best,

Chile Part Deux

After a 70 day tour of duty in the Southern Hemisphere I find myself back where it all started in early July. Warm temps and no snow forced us to return to Chile for our fall prep camp (GMVS). Having spent the majority of my summer (Chile's Winter) coaching the La Parva Ski Club I thought I knew what to expect. Upon arrival in Valle Nevado I was pleasantly surprised to see top to bottom coverage of rock-hard conditions.

Training over the last week has been absolutely phenomenal. I am currently working with nine boys ranging in age from first year J2 - PG. Their intense fall training has really paid off (Thanks Martin Guyer GMVS Strength Coach) as we have made huge progress in a short period of time.
